GreenSoft Technology Inc. with Barco NV Unveila Pilot Testing Program
GreenSoft Technology Inc. with Barco NV has launched a pilot program to build and experiment with a solution for the requirement of new EU REACH SCIP Database submission.
FREMONT, CA: GreenSoft Technology Inc. (GreenSoft), is the foremost provider of environmental compliance data services and software, and Barco NV (“Barco”), is the worldwide leader in visualization and collaboration solutions. Both companies have jointly launched a pilot program to create a solution for the requirement of new EU REACH SCIP Database submission.
Starting January 2021, organizations placing articles on the EU market, which consist of reportable stages of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) in the EU REACH guidelines, will have to submit their product data in the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Substances of Concern in Products (SCIP) Database online portal. It is necessary due to the currently updated EU Waste Framework Directive. Submissions to the SCIP Database involve considerably more information than the present EU REACH SVHC communication requirements.
GreenSoft and Barco have been working collectively to test GreenSoft’s planning of data for submission to the SCIP Database online portal. Barco has already made use of the GreenSoft’s data services and GreenData Manager software for EU RoHS, EU REACH, and Conflict Minerals control compliance. Recently Barco has gained a top 5% Gold rating for validating from the impartial business sustainability rating platform EcoVadis.
Larry Yen, President of GreenSoft, has said the following statement related to the SCIP Database pilot program with Barco “We are pleased to work directly with Barco on a pilot program for the development and testing of GreenSoft’s SCIP compliance solution. Barco is a leader in sustainability, and with GreenSoft’s position in the supply chain between component/material suppliers and product producers, together we are uniquely positioned to establish a comprehensive SCIP solution.”
At Barco, Jan Daem, ECO Officer stated that “For Barco, it is essential to be ready for SCIP reporting without overloading the supply chain. We are pleased to setup a lean and pragmatic system that leverages FMD data with our partner GreenSoft. The setup will result in useful safe use instructions and speedy reporting,”
