Harmonic Join Hands with Sneaky Big Studios to Virtualize 4K Production
FREMONT, CA: Harmonic, a video delivery infrastructure provider, has announced the investment made by Sneaky Big Studios in Harmonic MediaGrid 4000 storage solution, for the deployment of advanced production facilities. MediaGrid 4000 is supplied by DigitalGlue, a Harmonic platinum reseller to serve as active storage for editorial, color correction, grading, and VFX stages of the 4K production workflow in a demanding end-to-end ACES pipeline.
Sneaky Big offers settings for televisions, commercial shoots, and corporate content, media production and post production. The MediaGrid 4000, within Sneaky allows 540 TB of usable storage capacity and it also provides highly scalable Ethernet based shared storage system optimized for digital media workflows.
MediaGrid 4000 also supports ACES workflow using OpenEXR for VFX to ensure superior workflow efficiency and productivity, further enhancing data rate and storage demands. Harmonic system also facilitates online work with RAW files from RED and Sony cameras. Sneaky Big Studio’s bandwidth and capacity allows MediaGrid 4000 system to leverage extension of storage, thus eliminating the need to take systems offline.
The Sneaky Big Studios streamlines conversion of content to any array of acquisition, editing, web and mobile formats through Harmonic ProMedia carbon file-based transcoder. It runs as a stand-alone application or as a multi-mode, full automated solution rendering under the control of the Harmonic WFS file based workflow system. ProMedia Carbon also supports all major SD and HD formats, handling all critical transcoding operations comprising of PAL/NTSC conversion, logo insertion, color space conversion, and color correction.
