Hitachi Data Systems Introduces New Additions to Unified Compute Platform
ORLANDO, FA: Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) introduced series of solutions for its Unified Compute Platform (UCP) which runs on SAP HANA environments. The firm is well known for investing in converge infrastructure to monetize data and present the cost-efficient solutions for their customers. Consequently, the converged infrastructure allows customers to carry out various enterprise activities on the single platform.
The UCP is based on the latest Intel XEON E5 and E7 processors, which includes UCP (Unified Compute Platform) 1000 for SAP HANA, UCP 6000 for SAP S/4HANA, UCP 6000 for SAP HANA Dynamic Tiering. The platform assists with new analytics capabilities for UCP 6000 for SAP HANA. UCP 1000 is suitable for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for carrying out testing and enhance development. Whereas, UCP 6000 is ideal for data center applications which diminishes data storage cost to large extent. Also, the platform allocates active data in memory and less frequently accessed data in lower-cost storage. The analytics feature of UCP 6000 convert data into business insights by accumulating data from various sources. The whole infrastructure is supposed to remove ambiguities in processes, decrease operation cost, and curb data center footprint.
The growth of HDS from basic storage supplier to complete system supplier can be demonstrated through UCP. It allows enhancing storage capability and upgrading system networking which allows convergence of systems to meet data processing demands. UCP 6000 system has also been added to SAP Co-Innovation Lab which puts the reference architecture on test and development phases, as announced by HDS.
“Our strategic relationship with SAP is helping customers accelerate their journey through digital transformation as well as modern consumption, application development and IT delivery models. Our collaboration around innovation for tomorrow and our combined skills, capabilities and solutions, like our new Hitachi UCP Solutions for SAP HANA, can help customers harness the power of their data and address growing market requirements around cloud, analytics, and the Internet of Things,” said Jim Beckman, Vice President , Global Alliances, Hitachi Data Systems.
