Honeywell-Intel Partnership to Provide Tailored Security Solutions for the Industrial Environment

FREMONT, CA: Honeywell Process Solutions and Intel Security collaborates to protect critical industrial infrastructure and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).This partnership will integrate Intel Security’s McAfee technologies with Honeywell’s Industrial Cyber Security Solutions.

Benefits from this integration include: tested, proven and validated protection from known and unknown malware threats; consistent protection for both connected and air-gapped systems with no additional need for signature updates; system changes according to authorized policy and process, integrated management and analysis of cyber security risk using Honeywell industrial cyber security risk manager; and allows to work without having access to the Internet or any other network.

Honeywell's Industrial Cyber Security Solutions help plants and critical infrastructure sectors defend the availability, reliability and safety of their industrial control systems (ICS) and plant operations. The collaboration between Intel Security and HPS will combine the latest advances in cyber security technology with Honeywell’s unique industrial process domain knowledge to provide tailored security solutions for the industrial environment. With this collaboration, Honeywell customers will have enhanced security software to protect their control systems from malware and misuse.

Honeywell will qualify Intel Security’s Application Whitelisting and Device Control with its own proprietary cyber security for its Experion Process Knowledge System, providing a fully vetted and qualified solution designed to increase security without sacrificing reliability.  The product will be supported by Honeywell’s Industrial Cyber Security Risk Manager, which provides a continuous evaluation of cyber security risks within industrial environments. McAfee Device Control allows users to specify and categorize what data can and cannot be transferred to various plug-in devices.
