IAS Sells Imbalance Management Operations, Focuses on Core Technology
OAKLAND, CA: International Asset Systems (IAS), provider of cloud-based solutions for intermodal transportation, announces that the company has sold its InterChange and SlotXChange services to a team led by Robbie Pilkington, IAS' Imbalance Management vice president for over 10 years. The new entity, Slotsmart Logistics (Hong Kong) Ltd. (Slotsmart) will formally take over those operations on January 1, 2014. The sale enables IAS to focus on the continued growth of its core technology solutions, the IAS Dispatch, Equipment, and Chassis suites.
“Companies have saved millions of dollars of equipment repositioning costs each year with InterChange and SlotXChange,” says Paul Crinks, IAS' Chief Executive Officer. “IAS is proud of Robbie and his team and we expect Slotsmart Logistics’ to prove even more effective thanks to the new company’s sole focus on solving customers' equipment imbalance challenges.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to start this new company, leveraging these well-respected, well-established solutions to support current and new users,” says Robbie Pilkington, CEO of Slotsmart Logistics. “We look forward to taking our services to the next level, delivering even better equipment utilization and savings to our customers.”
IAS will continue its focus on growing market share of the award-winning DispatchManager, EquipmentRepair and ChassisManager solutions. IAS maintains the shipping industry's largest connected network of global trading partners such as ocean carriers, third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, motor carriers, lessors, terminals and depots. IAS solutions deliver actionable information across the network, enabling clients to seamlessly interact, while optimize the intermodal process and lower the cost of routine business transactions.
