OTTAWA, ON: International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), a technology provider for broadcasters, and Ymagis Group, the European specialist in digital technologies for the motion picture industry announce their strategic partnership. Through the strategic partnership they aim to provide new software-based "Digital Cinema Client", which will enable delivery of movies and trailers over both satellite and broadband.

"IDC is delighted to enter into a long-term strategic partnership with the leading and fastest growing digital cinema player in the world. It takes both IDC and Ymagis to the next level as we move into software-based products, with both cloud and satellite delivery of digital cinema files," says, Steeve Huin, Co-CEO, IDC.

The new software-based 'Digital Cinema Client' will include IDC's next generation solutions DataCloud XD, along with the widely deployed Datacast XD for broadband and satellite distribution respectively.

"We are very excited in leading the way with the most- advanced and reliable solution that will be implemented across thousands of theaters," adds Huin.

The 'Digital Cinema Client' is a part of the Digital Cinema solution. Comprising of fully-automated management and distribution of movies, trailers and advertisements to theaters the Digital Cinema solution coexists with the existing SuperFlex Pro Cinema hardware receivers, from a single head-end.

"We will deploy IDC's software-based 'Digital Cinema Client' into our own existing hardware at a majority of our 3,300 cinemas connected to our network across Europe," says Jean Mizrahi, President and CEO, Ymagis.

"This will allow us to integrate the same technology in our satellite and terrestrial networks that we are currently consolidating, as well as enabling cost effective expansion. IDC's software is proven and efficient and this agreement will build on their excellent professional reputation in this market," adds Mizrahi.
