Infortrend Announces the Release of New Gen Unified Storage System
Infortrend enhances the storage performance with the release of New Generation Systems and 32G FC and 25GbE connectivity.
FREMONT, CA: Infortrend Technology released its new-generation unified storage systems, named EonStor GS Gen2 and EonStor GSa Gen2, along with the availability of 32G FC and 25GbE connectivity. This new generation feature has an excellent CP ratio by supporting Intel's advanced CPU platform to enable higher throughput, memory capacity, and per-core performance.
Comparing to the Gen1, EonStor GS/GSa Gen2 can increase the performance up to 80 percent, making it capable of fulfilling the demanding requirements of today's enterprise data environments, such as the data center, HPC, and cloud computing. The introduction of 32G FC and 25GbE empowers enterprise customers to easily migrate to the new networking standard for boosting the data access.
EonStor GS/GSa Gen2 family is a solution that can integrate SAN, NAS, and cloud gateway features, as well as to object storage to offer a powerful hybrid cloud environment. Along with this, GSa is all-flash storage that is designed to provide optimal SSD performance with low latency. The Gen2 system is ideal for the common NAS and SAN infrastructure and applications such as database, virtualization, video editing, file sharing, and cloud data integration.
“The key benefit of Gen2 is that customers can enjoy better performance and future-proof storage infrastructure with lower costs. The launch of new-generation storage systems shows our ambition in paving the way for enterprises to gain profits from innovations,” said Thomas Kao, Senior Director of Product Planning.
Infortrend incorporates Intel's latest Xeon processor for Gen2, comprising 4-core GS/GSa 3000 Gen2 and 8-core GS/GSa 4000 Gen2. The development includes double memory capacity and four 10GbE ports onboard. In terms of performance, Gen2 reaches up to 10,000/5,500 MB/s Read/Write speed and delivers faster response time, no matter whether it is a web transaction, virtual machine, or an online data query.
CIOReview named Infortrend as one of the 10 Most Promising Storage Solution Provider 2018.
