Intersil Joins Hands with GWS for Advancement in Complex Power Systems

MILPITAS, CA: Intersil Corporation, provider of power management and analog solutions, has acquired Great Wall Semiconductor (GWS), developer of state-of-the-art power metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) technology for cloud computing, space and consumer applications.

With this acquisition, GWS’s design team provides its valuable experience to Intersil and helps them in leveraging advanced design and process technology to allow power efficiency gains and trail drop in complex power systems.  Also, by combining GWS’s existing and emerging Field Effect Transistor (FET) with its power controller portfolio, Intersil is planning to expand its addressable market and delivers inducing integration opportunities to speed up improvement in the development of next generation stages.
