IoT is "A Must" for Business Enhancement
Among the numerous advantages of using IoT, its capability to tackle security issues is often underestimated and misunderstood.
FREMONT, CA: Organizations are trying to connect and streamline their processes. Though it seems like a never-ending process, with recent advancements in technologies like the Internet of things (IoT), enterprises have started to transform their budget with intent to invest in these technologies. Companies are including IoT to address a wide range of issues such as solving business challenges, saving costs, driving revenue, and dealing with security issues. Among the numerous advantages of using IoT, its capability to tackle security issues is often underestimated and misunderstood. Here are some of the possible ways in which IoT solutions are making business processes more secure:
IoT’s Inherent Infrastructure
IoT allows tracking and locating assets and people in real-time. As IoT boosts the interconnectivity among various devices, the organizations are just a click away from critical business information. For instance, even before a connection is made, the call center operator is aware of the caller, their location, and other details about them, such as medical history or emergency contacts. IoT services are getting extended, and the operators are getting filtered and relevant information on their dashboard.

Locating and Tracking with IoT
IoT facilitates in location tracking, usually with the help of a location sensing device. The sensing device can be hardware equipment or an app in a mobile device such as a smartphone that utilizes the sensing capability of the phone. Further, the tracking device possesses the ability to broadcast its position to a remote system for processing. Based on the data received, the remote system computes the location of the equipment and transforms it in a way that is comprehensible to the consumer.
For applications where the location sensing device does not have GPS sensors, location can be pinpointed by triangulating on known variables such as WiFi routers, cell towers, and others.

IoT for Business Enhancement
There are unprecedented ways in which security capabilities can be enhanced using location tracking solutions. Extending the capabilities will make the services more effective. For instance, providing the customers with the ability to track their shipments leads them to feel connected and thereby builds a sense of trust.
