Juniper Networks Introduces New Cloud CPE to Automate Virtual Network Services
FREMONT, CA: In today’s software-centric world, end users demand and expect personalization and more control over their service environments. To meet subscriber needs, many service providers deploy dedicated physical customer premises equipment (CPE) that is prone to great cost incursions and maintenance difficulties. With Juniper Network’s new Cloud CPE, a fully automated, end-to-end network functions virtualization (NFV) solution, service providers can automate huge manual tasks and increase agility in providing virtually managed services in a simple manner, with greater revenue-generating opportunities, lower costs and enhanced customer satisfaction.
The expanded NFV portfolio is built on Juniper’s solutions that include Contrail Networking, vSRX Virtual Firewall, NorthStar Controller, vMX virtual router and Contrail Cloud Platform. Contrail Networking is a simple, open, and agile SDN solution automating creation of virtual networks that integrate seamlessly with existing physical networks and are easy to manage and orchestrate.
The vSRX virtual firewall adds to the Cloud CPE solution by providing a range of firewall, intrusion detection and protection, and other advanced security capabilities. With its customizable and programmable features, the vSRX s provides efficient virtual security. The vSRX is easy to license, providing the perimeter security required in today’s threat-sensitive business environment.
As part of Juniper’s Cloud CPE solution, the NFX250 network services platform gives communication service providers and enterprises the flexibility to deploy secure, high-performance services on-premises in a single CPE device. To meet countless customer service needs, the platform eliminates the operational complexities of deploying multiple types of CPE. The NFX250 embeds efficient and full-functioned virtualized security appliance the vSRX virtual firewall which gives access to feature-rich security services.
With Juniper’s new lineup of professional offerings that include Cloud CPE Assessment Service, NFV OSS Assessment Service and NFV Lifecycle Service, customers can evaluate Cloud CPE solution and develop plans on how to implement the new technology within their existing network infrastructure.
“As more and more of our service provider customers look to realize real business value from SDN and NFV, the need to have flexible solutions that effectively scale is critical. With the innovations we’re announcing today, service providers will be able to harness the power of scale-out services to improve their service delivery economics. For us at Juniper, it’s all about infusing automation into our customers’ networks to reduce time to market and speed time to revenue,” says Jonathan Davidson, executive vice president and general manager, Juniper Development and Innovation, Juniper Networks.
