BERKELEY – California-based cybersecurity startup, Kapalya, has launched a data protection solution that not only protects sensitive data-in-transit and but also secures the data-at-rest on public and private clouds, endpoints and mobile, helping companies comply with GDPR and other regulatory requirements. The Encryption Management Platform provides an easy-to-use system that enables employees to work on any device while also ensuring file safety, coupled with the ability to share encrypted files without revealing keys to their entire data set.
Ever since its foundation in 2015, Kapalya has been rigorously developing its data protection software. They use the feedback acquired from various security teams of different sizes, and from different industries to obtain a vast perspective on their data protection challenges and then implement the same into their software to make it more secure, efficient, goal-oriented and user-friendly.
Kapalya's Encryption Management Platform features one of the best at-rest and in-transit data encryption on any device or a corporate server or a public cloud. It flaunts a very secure end-to-end encrypted file sharing with an advanced key management algorithm that self-destroys after the encrypt/decrypt functions. Additionally, the sophisticated data classification engine can auto-detect your sensitive data and its zero-knowledge encryption masks cloud and corporate admin's visibility into your data and encryption keys.
For adding more effectiveness to its EM (Encryption Management) platform, Kapalya has also partnered with Gemalto, a global digital security company to use its FIPS 140-2 compliant virtual key management server in its platform.
Today, most businesses run hybrid IT environments with applications that are on-premise and in the cloud. With most employees shifting to mobile smartphones and tabs, these devices have become their primary interface to that corporate data. Due to which, the new perimeter has the actual data stored and moved over multiple devices. Todd Moore, Senior Vice President, Encryption Products, Identity & Data Protection, Gemalto conforms with the Kapalya’s Encryption Management Platform and says, ”Gemalto's proven data encryption and key management portfolio provides the perfect foundation for Kapalya to further build and deliver their innovative data security solutions”.
