KPIT Introduces Enterprise Data Warehouse for EDF Renewable Energy, Provides Real-time Analytics Powered by SAP HANA
SAN DIEGO, CA: KPIT Technologies, a provider of product engineering and IT consulting, announces the launch of the EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) Enterprise Data Warehouse on SAP HANA. The project is developed under the partnership of SAP, OSIsoft, KPIT and EDF RE, an independent power producer, to implement the SAP HANA IoT Connector solution for near- real time reporting of operational, business and transactional data.
SAP HANA IoT Connector Solution connects with the OSIsoft PI System to provision machine data into the SAP HANA platform, thereby improving process efficiencies, asset health, energy utilization, safety and quality. The integration enables sensor-based data collected by the OSIsoft PI System to be filtered more easily and integrated in near real time reporting for advanced analytics and decision making by using SAP HANA as a system, tool and database.
KPIT and EDF RE have jointly designed a consolidated IT environment for enterprise- wide sharing and efficient governance. The initiative included integration of SAP ERP application, ArcGIS and OSIsoft PI system data along with the integration of SCADA data sources. The process also required the migration of third–party hosted business warehouse and BI environments to the internal SAP HANA platform. SAP Business Warehouse application and SAP BusinessObjects BI platform were also upgraded to build an integrated enterprise data warehouse that brought together data across all of the various systems, creating a single source for reporting.
