Lenovo Joins Forces with Juniper to Drive Enterprise and Web-Scale Customers
SUNNYVALE, CA: The industry leaders in network innovation, Lenovo and Juniper have announced a datacenter partnership to drive synergies in their product and technology portfolios targeting solutions for enterprise and web-scale customers. The partnership looks forward to create next-generation converged, hyper-converged and hyper-scale datacenter infrastructure solutions. By providing customers a faster time-to-application value with reduced operating costs, the alliance reflects shared commitment in delivering simplified, flexible, and high-performance solutions. The two companies will collaborate on joint systems and integrate Lenovo's servers with Juniper's networking hardware and software.
Under the partnership, customers can access Juniper’s wide range of networking product-lines from Lenovo, while also receiving support from both vendors. The companies will use the Open Network Install Environment model to bring open source solutions. Leveraging the ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) model, the partnership also intends to bring open, flexible solutions to the market. By adopting Lenovo’s xClarity management technology as well as Juniper’s Network Director and Contrail SDN software, both the companies are expected to offer simplified management and orchestration in the datacenter.
Lenovo accelerates the movement towards converged and software defined offerings with a comprehensive set of x86 based servers and switches. The partnership is expected to enable customers to leverage Juniper’s strengths in networking and Lenovo’s recognized leadership in x86 server reliability and networking access to derive manageable, scalable, and simple infrastructure solutions for their data center.
