Marriott Hotels and Netflix Partner; Aim to Revolutionize Guest Room Experience

BETHESDA, MD: Guests at the Marriott Hotels would no longer have to use their personal devices to watch their favorite shows for their stay at select Marriot properties. They will now be able to stream their Netflix home subscriptions directly on the guest room television.

Marriot Hotels and Netflix, a provider of Internet Television Network, team-up to reform the guest room entertainment experience. By using the Netflix app on the hotel’s internet-connected guest room television, guests will be able to subscribe or sign in to their existing accounts easily and all the information will be automatically wiped out from the guest room television once the guests checkout.

Currently the service is available inNew York Marriott East Side, San Jose Marriott, PrincetonMarriott, NewportMarriott, Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana and Bethesda Marriott Suites. Marriott Marquis Washington, DC,San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, DaytonMarriott, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Anaheim Marriott will avail the service this summer.

Marriott plans to expand Netflix to 100 of its properties by the end of 2015, and to nearly all of its more than 300 properties in the U.S. by the end of 2016, reports Todd R. Weiss for eWeek.
