Marvell's Armada SoC supports R10 LTE

FREMONT, CA: Silicon solution providers Marvell answers the fast implementing competition for 4G LTE across the world with its cost-effective R10 LTE carrier aggregation platform with 20+20MHz support, the quad-core 64-bit ARMADA Mobile PXA1918 System-on-Chip (SoC).

This platform comes with acing security and advanced communication features for mass deployment by global operators. This acts as a fitting response to the ever increasing demands for high performance R10 LTE Advanced CA smartphones and tablets.

Now with the launch of industry’s first cost-effective 64-bit quad-core ARMADA Mobile PXA1918 R10 LTE platform, they can enable the deployment of carrier aggregation by global operators.

The technical features include an Advanced Multi-level Security and Memory saving technology. It offers support on 5 modes (LTE TDD/FDD, DC-HSPA+, TD-HSPA+, GSM/EDGE) with DSDS. The R10 LTE Advanced TDD/FDD Carrier Aggregation Cat7, supports up to 2x20MHz bandwidths with peak speed of 300Mbps downlink and 100Mbps uplink whereas the DC-HSPA + supports for 42Mbps downlink and 11Mbps uplink.

It comes with a 64-bit Quad-core ARM Cortex A53 processor and an Advanced imaging processor supporting up to 13MP camera, advanced graphics, integrated RF transceiver, which supports both cellular and GNSS communications and will also support for latest Android OS. Marvell's Avastar low-power wireless connectivity combo radio is another feature that enhances efficiency.  It also features high performance Wi-Fi 11n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 with latest feature set, highly integrated front-end and power-efficient design. Other advanced features include VoLTE, eMBMS, RCS, VoWiFi, IMS, field proven DSDS technology.

Adding on the mobile processor features is the ARM Cortex A53 processor and it can support all regular cellular communication standards namely TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM/EDGE.
