Mentor Graphics and Ixia Join Forces
FREMONT, CA: Mentor Graphics Corp, provider of electronic hardware and software design solutions, products, and consulting services, announced collaboration with Ixia, a provider of network testing, visibility, and security solutions. This alliance resulted in Mentor incorporating Ixia's virtual edition test product family – IxNetwork Virtual Edition – with the Mentor Veloce emulation platform to stimulate the verification of composite networking chips. As function of these coactions, Ixia joined the Mentor OpenDoor program.
As an upshot, networking customers can have an emulation-based verification run seamlessly incorporated within an Ixia virtual environment; making for the potent advantages of emulation to the lab environment. This accords the reprocess of traffic flow generation scripts for more expectant efficiency and bettered debug, and imparts customers the ability to de-risk the disputes of complex chip designs.
The resulting newfangled Mentor product, the Veloce Virtual Network App, was goaded by the Veloce team based on the quests and accompaniment of common customers. The development work required to finish the Veloce VN App was achieved through the conjugative functioning of the Research and Development organizations at both Mentor and Ixia.
"Emulation delivers a huge performance upshot for full-chip verification," stated Scott Westlake, VP Business Development at Ixia. "It is natural for Mentor and Ixia to join forces and force a 'shift left' that elaborates the use of virtualized testing to speed up the delivery of networking chips to market."
Lots of networking customers who employ the Veloce emulation platform asked for a more rigorous integration with Ixia's IxNetwork VE, as both are vital for new product delivery. The Veloce VN App makes an extremely optimized flow from simulation to the lab for more expectant efficiency and better debug. Common customers can view a working prototype of the integration which is kept as demo in Mentor emulation lab in Fremont, California.
"The Veloce VN App, produced in close collaboration with the splendid team at Ixia, is a case of Mentor setting up the stage for Veloce Networking 2.0," stated Eric Selosse, vice president and general manager, Mentor Emulation Division.
The Veloce VN App gets together with other apps in the arsenal of software inventions for the Veloce emulation platform. Mentor goes forward to expand the library of Veloce Apps to introduce fresh ways to assure designs meet their operational and performance specs on docket.
