FREMONT, CA: Microsoft updates StorSimple 8000 series storage compliance to include greater automation and orchestration while adding it to the company’s Azure Government cloud service. The latest update also facilitates customers to choose their own cloud storage provider.

StorSimple can be effectively used for compression and Inline deduplication to optimize storage utilization. The new release includes StorSimple deployments in Azure Government clouds and other cloud connectivity; SDK support for Azure PowerShell and Zone Redundant Storage (ZRS) support; data migration tools that eases customers upgrading from earlier versions. Cloud platform can be setup by running commandlet on their StorSimple device to Azure Government, prior to registering their StorSimple device on the Azure Government Portal. Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) mode can be activated by setting this option. Microsoft is focusing on StorSimple's automation and orchestration capabilities, reducing hands-on IT administration.

"Redundancy option helps keep data durable by storing an equivalent of three copies of data across multiple facilities," says Guru Pangal, General Manager, Hybrid Storage and Data Protection, Microsoft. “With StorSimple Update 1 we can now deliver even more cloud connectivity, automation, redundancy and data migration capabilities to our customers.”
