SANTA CLARA, CA: In order to secure OpenStack cloud ecosystem, Mirantis and Palo Alto Networks join hands to secure applications from cyber threats in a cost effective manner. The partnership will avail Palo Alto Networks next generation security as virtual network function within Mirantis OpenStack.

Mirantis is an OpenStack distributor making cloud deployments easier and flexible. It validates upstream packages and open source components at a large scale. On the other hand, Palo Alto Networks’ next generation firewall brings secure application enablement and advanced threat prevention to cloud environments. It maintains a consistent set of policies across all the cloud deployments of an enterprise.

The partnership will integrate Palo Alto Networks’ VMSeries virtualized next generation firewall with Mirantis OpenStack. The combined solution is easy to deploy and provision that can be quickly deployed on a VM and run within the OpenStack cloud. It can reduce the traffic on VM series firewall without manual configuration changes to virtual networking attributes. In addition, it will provide next generation security for virtualized applications and data by providing visibility and control to the user and advanced threat protection addressing the complete attack lifecycle.

The Palo Alto Mirantis combined solution will accelerate innovation and improve operational efficiency with next generation security for OpenStack clouds. Moreover, it will enable a zero trust security model across the entire OpenStack cloud to prevent and contain new attacks.
