PALO ALTO, CA: Mobeam, provider of mobile barcode beaming technology with its light-based beaming solution enables laser scanners to read barcode built data on Android Smartphones with the help of Mobeam SDK. Developers can come up with their own android applications and concepts utilizing barcodes or other applications of beaming for transmitting barcode-based content. The technology has been made available to developers.

True retail mobile wallets and similar applications for travel, transportation, manufacturing, health care and many other industries will be benefiting from the solution.  Overcoming the conventional technical barriers, Mobeam's patented light-based beaming technology facilitates point of sale (POS) laser scanners to read barcodes on Android mobile devices.

“We will be reaching out to companies with existing shopping and promotion apps, since the addition of beaming will enable those apps to communicate directly with the POS scanner," states Mobeam CEO, George Garrick.

The technology extends a comprehensive mobile wallet with easy integration on existing mobile payment apps which will now carry loyalty cards, membership cards, gift cards, tickets, vouchers and coupons with universal POS access at retailers.

Meanwhile, the Mobeam Beaming SDK for Android offers APIs for developers to generate and beam a variety of barcodes including UPC, EAN, Code 128, Codabar, GS1 Databar and others.
