NAKIVO Releases Version 5.8 to Create VM Backup through Western Digital NAS
CAMPBELL, CANAKIVO, a cloud backup software company for VMware rolls out NAKIVO Backup and Replication to version 5.8. The latest version can be installed in Western Digital NAS (Network Attached Storage) - a data storage server that is connected to a computer network providing data access to clients, which then acts as a VM backup appliance that can be used onsite and offsite.
NAKIVO Backup and Replication v5.8 delivers data protection for virtualized environments and provides support for live applications, instant granular recovery, network acceleration, data deduplication and compression. The new version of NAKIVO can be installed on all NAS devices including entry level devices, due to its prerequisite of 2 CPU cores and 1 GB RAM. After its deployment on NAS, the NAKIVO Backup and Replication can attain a backup speed of 1 Gbps taking complete advantage of the NAS bandwidth. Moreover, NAKIVO can backup the virtual environment to Amazon cloud for enhanced safety.
“The release of v5.8 opens up new market opportunities for NAKIVO and our 900+ solution partners, by enabling our customers to convert Western Digital NAS devices into high performance VM backup appliances. Deployed on a Western Digital NAS, NAKIVO Backup & Replication delivers high speed VM data protection, global data deduplication, VM backup to cloud, as well as instant VM and granular recovery at a price point that can help SMB customers save money and offload most the VM backup processing from their VMware environment,” says Bruce Talley, CEO, NAKIVO.
