NEC and Juniper Adopts NFV; Transforms Business Operations

SUNNYVALE, CA: NEC Corporation provides enterprise network solutions which combine IT and network technologies whereas; Juniper Networks is an innovator and solutions provider for business networks. The global alliance relationship between NEC Corporation and Juniper Networks expanded to deliver Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solutions to aid business operators and enterprises.  The Alliance nurtured NFV to boost service agility and improve the business operations of enterprise and the service providers.

The NFV characterizes the combination of NEC Cloud System, an OpenStack based Cloud infrastructure and NetCracker’s Operational Support System (OSS) system. The solution also includes an end-to-end service orchestration, systems integration capabilities and consulting options. Additionally, Juniper Network’s networking tools— vMX Routing platform and vSRX Firewall platform allows the Virtual Networks Function (VNF) to be incorporated in the NFV framework. The framework when combined with NetCracker’s OSS and orchestration capabilities offer the users with a realistic and automated cloud based business solution.

NEC leverages Juniper Network’s NFV- hardware and software for the enterprise virtualized Customer Premises Equipment (vCPE) solution which adapts to any virtualized service environment. “The alliance will further reinforce the ecosystem and allow NEC and Juniper to jointly offer NFV-based solutions that enables the introduction of innovative new services at higher speed and lower cost," predicts Atsuo Kawamura, Senior Vice President, NEC Corporation. 

With the growing market competitiveness the alliance broadens its focus to new upcoming market areas by integrated technical teams and state-of-the-art lab environments to test the latest solutions and targeted innovative industry initiatives, such as Internet of Things (IoT), Retail-as-a-Service and Surveillance-as-a-Service offerings.
