Netsocket's Virtual Edge Simplifies Managed Network Services Delivery
Fremont, CA: Netsocket, a company mainly into creating solutions for virtualized software defined networking launched ‘Virtual Edge’. A cloud based solution that enables Small and Medium Businesses to get the network solutions such as installing, managing and updating in an automated manner. It nullifies the need of the network technicians travelling down to the customer’s base and getting it wired up and makes it easy for system administrators to take care of the network setup. The setup, management and update are done using automated and centrally managed virtual network stationed at the internet service provider delivering the services to its customers.
Virtual Edge runs on Netsocket Virtual Network (NVN) for network virtualization and advanced management. All a customer needs to have now is one x86-based MicroCloud Server from Netsocket. This single machine will take care of all the networking requirements at the customer premises. The platform provides Graphical User Interface to make any alterations in the network configuration.
Virtual Edge users will also get to use the ‘MicroCloud Switch,’ a layer 2 switch having eight to twenty-four, layer 2 gigabit ethernet ports enabled with VLAN and QoS. The MicroCloud Switch provides client and server device and wireless access point connections.
Virtual Edge is an asset for managed service providers as they can offer effective services such as routing, switching, firewall and tunneling facilities in a simplified and cost effective manner. Being an open source platform, NVN provides compatibility to multi-vendor solutions to the same MicroCloud server. The services which are run at the customer site are managed through MSP’s service desk equipped with centralized multi-tenant management system.
The advantages for the end user (the customer) from Virtual Edge are cost efficiency, security, end-to-end connectivity, and easy upgradability.
