NeuroMetrix Introduces Quell Wearable Pain Relief Device to Relieve Pain in One Click
WALTHAM, MA: NeuroMetrix, a provider of home use and point-of-care neurodiagnostic devices, announces that they have launched Quell wearable pain relief device to relieve from chronic, and nerve pain to lower back problems.
Quell works on non-invasive neurostimulation technology where microelectrodes are used to restore sensation by interacting with tissue. The wearable device is lightweight and can be worn at any time of day or night while sleeping. The company promises to give relief from pain within 15 minutes after putting it on, reports by Edgar Alvarez from engadget.com.
NeuroMetrix’s Quell captures the upper calf of the body and sends signals to brain at one click to release opioids as a response for natural body pain relief. The opioids then resend the pan signals to the delta opioid receptor to trigger the feelings which reduce the degree of pain. The device has 40 hour battery backup with Bluetooth connectivity that enables it to connect with an iOS device or smartphone to track patient’s pain therapy as well as sleep quality.
