MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: The agility of Mirantis OpenStack is now combined with NetApp’s storage solutions to provide their customers in-depth joint testing, validations and reference architectures. NetApp and Mirantis have become bi-directional alliance partners, evidently coupling the OpenStack clouds with feature-rich, high-performance NetApp storage systems.
The new Reference Architecture is useful for configuring and deploying the all-new Mirantis OpenStack (MOS) 7.0 clusters. The integrated solution supports two classes of NetApp storage solutions: Clustered Data ONTAP (CDOT) based NetApp ‘FAS’ storage systems; and performance-optimized SANtricity based NetApp ‘E Series’ storage systems. While the former is a unified architecture with high-storage efficiency and the latter is a reliable SAN storage with low latency and high capacity.
The configuration and deployment is further made simple using Fuel plug-in. The architecture delivers optimal networking configurations with OpenStack. It also provides best practices to support databases, live migration, backup, recovery and disaster management.
