Newer Designs for the Fashion Industry with AI

Fashion has become a hotbed of innovation from the invention of the sewing machine to the growth of e-commerce. Today, the technology transforms fashion more quickly than ever before; from sewing and cutting robots to AI algorithms that predict style trends, to VR mirrors in dressing rooms, technology automates, customizes, and accelerates every aspect of fashion.

It takes a lot of time to find the right customers, to identify the trends, and to market the products, especially with so many options. The fashion industry now uses artificial intelligence to help them work and prosper easily.

One of the greatest challenges for software engineers was the application of AI in the field of human creativity. With culture, place, and time the fashion changes. A complete design task requires a wide range of features, including events, clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, and hairstyling. The AI fashion program can process large amounts of data more quickly, learn the style of users more accurately, memorize and process feedback from users, store user descriptions, and help users get more organized and efficient.

IBM partnered in a project called Reimagine Retail with Tommy Hilfiger and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to help personalize the experience for individuals and make it easier for designers to use AI.

One of India’s largest online fashion retailers, Myntra, wins the race in adopting technologies such as AI and AR to help its consumers capture the latest fashion trends. Myntra’s fashion experiment with AI dates back to 2016 when AI and ML used customer experiences to customize customer data to cure lines based on current fashion trends and to create a unique personalized store experience.

GAP, a worldwide retailer of clothing and accessories, launched an app called DressingRoom which enables consumers to virtually test clothes based on measurements such as height and weight. The app creates a 3D mannequin with a 360-degree view of the model on the measurements chosen.
