NICE Investigate Deployed on Azure Government for Digital Policing Solution
PARAMUS, NJ: It becomes a tedious task for investigators to collect, review and correlate the information they need for building a case as the data is often contained in silos. To address the issue of Digital Policing, NICE Systems, a provider of enterprise software solutions, announced its plan to deploy the NICE Investigate digital policing solution on the Microsoft Azure Government cloud platform. Law enforcement agencies will be significantly benefitted by this collaboration as it introduces a comprehensive Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)-compliant cloud solution to manage investigations and digital evidence.
The digital evidence gathered from body cameras, CCTV footage, in-car video, interview recordings, crowd-sourced data (such as citizen tips, photos, and videos), ALPR, CAD, RMS, and other sources is usually an copious pile for police departments. “Digital policing initiatives are flooding police departments with valuable evidence that needs to be collected, stored, and analyzed in an efficient and timely manner,” says Chris Wooten, Executive Vice President, NICE Systems. ”Our collaboration with Microsoft Corp. means police departments can benefit from NICE Investigate’s comprehensive data collection, analysis, and collaboration capabilities in the secured, scalable, and cost-effective environment of the Microsoft Azure Government cloud.”
Law enforcement agencies can leverage Azure Government’s platform to help safeguard digital evidence and better ensure the integrity of investigations. Azure Government is first to have a hyper scale commercial infrastructure completely committed to address the CJIS security needs for federal, state, and local governments. The platform incorporates SaaS (Software as a Service) solution to eliminate the up-front hardware and resource costs associated with on-premise option. The scalability associated with the cloud platform implies easy adjustment of NICE Investigate to cope with changing investigative workloads and evidence storage requirements.
NICE Investigate helps to streamline the process of collection, analysis, and sharing of digital evidence, so as to make it easier for investigators to close cases faster. “Offering the NICE Investigate solution on the Microsoft Azure Government cloud platform reinforces our shared commitment to providing law enforcement the most advanced tools available to help them do their jobs and better protect the public,” remarks Michael Donlan, Vice President, U.S. State and Local Government, Microsoft.
