observIQ Announces Open Telemetry Project to Fix Cloud Observability

observIQ announced that the Open Telemetry Project had tapped observIQs open-source log agent Stanza as the vital component for log collection.

FREMONT, CA: observIQ, a provider of next-generation observability solutions for ITOps and DevOps teams, announces that its open-source log agent Stanza is part of the OpenTelemetry Project as the vital component for log collection.

Since its launch in 2020, observIQ’s mission has offered a simple to use, powerful, and performant log management experience. observIQ released Stanza as an open source project in mid-2020 to develop a high-performance yet flexible, open source log agent. observIQ and OpenTelemetry have agreed to comprise Stanza as the log agent component within OpenTelemetry. Many observIQ team members will join the project as maintainers of the log agent component to continue to advance in log agent technology and assist in advancing the mission of OpenTelemetry. This announcement comes as observIQ rolls out observIQ Cloud, its log management platform developed to dramatically ease log management for ITOps and DevOps teams.

observIQ’s Stanza log agent will be a key part of the OpenTelemetry project. This has been in the works for several months, and the team at observIQ is excited to see it become a reality. This announcement coincides with the roll of the log management plat roll form, which will be the first platform to fully benefit the log agent technology now incorporated into OpenTelemetry.

Observability gaps and interoperability breakdowns are often impacts of the increasingly quick adoption of Cloud-native open source technologies. In this world of increasing technological complexity, firms are often blind to operational risk that is present whether they know of it or not. The observIQ platform for assisting enterprises get complete visibility by offering a unified log management platform as a service that consistently and comprehensively gathers logs and dependencies across Cloud-native and conventional app stacks. It is interesting to see that observIQ’s Stanza high-performance open source agent has become the layer of the portion of the log of the OpenTelemetry observability framework as this makes unified open source log management available to ITOps and DevOps alike.
