Ogletree Deakins Unveils OD Comply: Marijuana
Ogletree Deakins, one of the biggest labors and employment law firms representing management, has launched OD Comply.
FREMONT, CA: Ogletree Deakins, one of the biggest labors and employment law firms representing management, increased its growth of OD Comply by introducing OD Comply: Marijuana, a flat-fee, subscription-based program that offers a concise, updated, and practical guidance to employment-related marijuana legal compliance in every 50 states and the District of Columbia.
OD Comply: Marijuana was generated due to the rapid advancements in marijuana legalization and the numerous ways it affects employers and their workplaces. OD Comply: An Ogletree Deakins group of attorneys created marijuana with hands-on experience litigating marijuana-related matters and offering business-centric compliance advice in order to supply employers with a simple, cost-efficient tool.
OD Comply: Marijuana is usable and customizable, with up-to-date state and major locality overviews on medical and recreational marijuana legalization laws and guidelines on complicated problems that employers are increasingly confronted with, such as disability discrimination laws indicted by medical marijuana use and drug testing laws affecting marijuana testing. The subscription also contains a decision tree to analyze employment concerns raised by legalized recreational and medical marijuana use and timely email notifications about new laws and developments, template materials, checklists, and other resources.
“Already in 2021, New Mexico, New York, and Virginia have passed laws legalizing recreational marijuana, with many more considering medical or recreational marijuana legalization laws. The differences in laws from state to state and the pace of new and amended laws make it difficult for employers to stay in front of this fast-moving topic,” said Tae Phillips, a shareholder in Ogletree Deakins’ Birmingham office and author of OD Comply: Marijuana.
Stephen Woods, a shareholder in Ogletree Deakins’ Greenville office and chair of the firm’s OD Comply™ compliance solutions group, added, “We created OD Comply: Marijuana in direct response to client needs. It’s a valuable new tool that will that help employers stay compliant with another rapidly changing state and major locality law.”
