omniQ All Set to Deploy omniQ VISION at Miami International Airport (MIA)
omniQ is ready to deploy its AI-LPR based machine vision solution at Miami International Airport by the last quarter of 2021.
FREMONT, CA: Vehicle theft has been a problem for several years, but now with the advancement of technology, there is definitely a decrease in the number of thefts. The omniQ VISION system will be installed at Miami International Airport (MIA) by omniQ Corp. DESIGNA Access Corporation has chosen omniQ to deploy omniQ VISION, its advanced artificial intelligence-based licence plate recognition (LPR) and vehicle recognition technology. omniQ VISION is now deployed at more than 40 airports, including 50 percent of the top 20 hub airports in the U.S., including Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, Los Angeles International Airport and John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.
omniQ VISION competed in a detailed Request for Quotation (RFQ) through DESIGNA with several other LPR firms for the MIA contract. DESIGNA is the PARCS vendor contracted by Miami-Dade County to deploy a new Parking Access and Revenue Control System with License Plate Recognition. The ability to work in a VM Ware environment was a key criteria for DESIGNA's RFQ, as was offering a fully integrated fixed and mobile LPR solution from the same source, leveraging a single database of LPR records.
The Designa/MIA contract calls for omniQ Vision to provide 50+ fixed lanes of LPR for the airport's entry and exit plazas, as well as licence plate processing in a virtualized environment with failover capability. For licence plate inventory, the arrangement comprises omniQs SeeMobile vehicle-mounted LPR and SeePatrol handheld LPR systems, as well as Bluetooth printers for vehicle alerts. During the fourth quarter of 2021, the technology is expected to be installed at Miami International Airport.
“The momentum continues, omniQ VISIONs selection by DESIGNA at Miami International follows a successful multi-year deployment with DESIGNA at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, covering the four New York Area Airports for our integrated fixed and mobile LPR systems,” said Shai Lustgarten, CEO of omniQ. We are very grateful to partner with DESIGNA again in future-proofing another major U.S. hub airport location.
