Oracle Releases Network Function Virtualization Driven Communication Solutions
AMSTERDAM, NL: Oracle has unveiled four new products based on Network Function Virtualization (NFV) for Communication Service Providers (CSP), introduced as Oracle Communication Session Border Controller, Oracle Communications Converged Application Server, Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper and Oracle Communications Policy management.
The launch of Oracle’s new solutions will enable CSPs to untangle the complex layers of network that get generated due to bridging of physical and virtual environment. Simultaneously they support CSPs to alter network to cater better customer services as well as leverage existing resources in the new hybrid network.
Oracle Communication Session Border Controller delivers services across Internet Protocol (IP) network borders and application from basic Voice over IP (VoIP) to IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for security, interoperability, reliability and quality, regulatory compliance and cost optimization of communication networks provided by CSPs. It leverages Acme Packet OS and hardware to assure safety of service delivery infrastructure and communication sessions from malicious attacks. It has capability to convert incompatible codes, translate signaling-layer telephone numbers and response codes as well as diminish problems caused due to upstream link or equipment failure. Oracle Communication Session Border Controller provides accounting related service and automated deployment of session border controllers.
Oracle Communications Converged Application Server is a converged Java IMS application container which enables agile enhancement and deployment of carrier-grade converged IP service. It initiates geographical redundant session replication and tiered clustering, while minimizes development cost through carrier-grade availability. It delivers continued and high performance of core network application servers and bolstered profitability of new and existing converged IP services. Oracle Communications Converged Application Server builds on Oracle Coherence in-memory data grid technology which offers reliable data storage with shared memory and default event processing across application servers.
Oracle Communications Services Gatekeeper serves as API exposure platform, governing entire API lifecycle, tailoring wizard based API in minutes and reporting analyzed API usage trends. It provides pre-integrated solutions for QoS control, messaging services and confident identity management. It offers accelerated marketing and revenue, regulates third-party access and usage and exposure of new telco and enterprise services.
Oracle Communications Policy management frames network, subscriber, device and application awareness along with an assimilated multimedia policy engine, subscriber profile repository and configuration platform. It supports providers to serve all subscribers from a unified policy management platform regardless of network access type through personalized service tiers and integrated billing systems.
In the era of converging scale of technology, virtualization is being adopted by many communication providers. Oracle release will offer flexible, scalable and manageable virtualized communication solutions to CSP driven enterprises.
