Overstock Chooses Midokura's MEM to Support OpenStack Private Cloud

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Serving major organizations, like Dell, Blue Jeans Network and Fujitsu, Midokura has achieved another milestone by getting selected by Overstock.com.

Overstock.com, an online retailer, has selected Midokura Enterprise MidoNet (MEM) by Midokura- an innovator in software network virtualization, to balance its OpenStack private cloud. The company has chosen MEM because of its efficacy with OpenStack. Also, Midokura’s ability and its engineers’ dedication intended Overstock to choose MEM.

A combination of the stable, production-hardened version of MidoNet for Network Virtualization with MidoNet Managerand Big Data Analytics, MEM delivers a software layer directly within existing physical network hardware, which turns physical machines into a virtual platform that can extent to hundreds of thousands of virtual ports.

In addition, it allows businesses to design, run and manage virtual networks with alertnessand advanced control. It also eradicates extra costs and enhances stability, scalability and performance of networks.

Apart from these, Overstock also uses ChatOps tools by Github to improve its inter-company communication and interaction between its engineer and Midokura’s engineers,  bringing down the usual company walls.
