FREMONT, CA: Packetcraft recently announced that its robust protocol stack solution for Bluetooth LE Audio is powered by Nordic Semiconductor nRF5340 Wireless System-on-Chip (SoC). This synthesis of Packetcraft's world-leading LE Audio tech and Nordic's most sophisticated wireless SoC is ready to satisfy the needs of ultra-low power audio devices such as wireless stereo earbuds and hearing aids. Packetcraft product release for the nRF5340 is now available under commercial license to business customers.

"The high performance nRF5340 allows Packetcraft's software to be used to its fullest potential," says John Yi, CEO, Packetcraft.  "Hardware features like dual Arm Cortex-M33 cores and the low-jitter audio PLL enable our software to meet the challenging requirements of products like synchronized wireless stereo earbuds.

LE Audio is the next generation of low-power, higher-quality Bluetooth audio that runs on the Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) radio. LE Audio incorporates additional features such as transmitted audio, multi-stream synchronized audio, and a new high-quality audio codec named LC3.

The Packetcraft Bluetooth LE Audio solution comprises of the following device components: the Packetcraft Controller, Bluetooth 5.2 qualified link layer, and the Packetcraft Server, Bluetooth 5.2 qualified host stack and profiles. Packetcraft Controller supports full Bluetooth 5.2-layer connection feature set, including isochronous channels and LE power management, in addition to Bluetooth 5.0/5.1 features such as 2Mbps, long range, extended ads, and AoA/AoD path finding. Packetcraft Host implements the full Bluetooth 5.2 LE host stack feature set, provided by EATT, plus the profile software implementing the latest Bluetooth standards specifying LE Audio.

"Nordic Semiconductor is excited to see Packetcraft's complete LE Audio protocol software solution running on nRF5340, with advanced features like isochronous channels," says Par Hakansson, Product Manager, Short Range IoT, Nordic Semiconductor.
