PelleSommansson Joins ZeroNorth as Chief Product and AI Officer

PelleSommansson will use his new position at ZeroNorth to enhance the company’s data processing and technological capabilities.

PelleSommansson has been named the new Chief Product and AI Officer of ZeroNorth, a maritime technology business. Sommansson comes to ZeroNorth from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he was a Partner focused on large-scale data democratization initiatives. He was previously the Chief Data & Analytics Officer at IKEA before joining BCG.

Sommansson also brings to ZeroNorth his expertise working in innovative start-up environments that grew into well-known household names. During the quick growth of both firms into their respective sectors, he was Head of Product at Swedish finance company Klarna and a co-founder of exercise and fitness network Strava.

Sommansson will use his new position at ZeroNorth to enhance the company’s data processing and technological capabilities. He will also focus on the customer experience, identifying and managing areas where ZeroNorth’s platform can be expanded to meet the demands of more users on their decarbonization journeys. In addition, he will also expand the company’s usage of AI and machine learning across its platform, leveraging algorithms and software that take advantage of the data flywheel effect to improve outcomes over time.
