Philip and Cisco jointly Launches Smart LED Lighting Platform
FREMONT, CA: Philips launched a smart LED lighting with Cisco’s IT network to create a new value in energy savings, pathway for information, building efficiency and employee productivity by leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) in office and commercial buildings.
Philips smart LED lighting system is equipped with sensors and software applications that are connected with Cisco technologies. The sensor equipped in the lighting system has the power to sense, measure the environment and provides the necessary information for customer utilization. This information acquired from the lightning system is utilized by the customers to save energy, reduce cost, improve productivity and optimize their workspace environment.
The new lighting system enables building owners to digitize the lighting for best energy efficient lighting experience. The LED lighting system can be adjusted in a way workers prefer, thereby making it more comfortable for use. This also allows office workers to personalize lighting via their smartphone app to access other building services through communications network. This in turn accelerates their market presence and improves their office environment.
“The world is becoming digital, and by working with Philips, we can help building owners more quickly digitize their lighting networks to drive better user experiences and efficiency. By partnering with Philips, we are delivering a reliable PoE-powered LED lighting solution using a highly secure IT network”, says Edwin Paalvast, SVP EMEAR, Cisco and executive sponsor of the Cisco – Philips Alliance.
