FREMONT, CA: PLUMgrid, an innovative virtual network solutions provider for OpenStack, announces a new solution that enables Rackspace Private Cloud users with secure and scalable virtual network infrastructure.

The new solution is based on the integration of PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite (ONS) – PLUMgrid’s flagship SDN offering for OpenStack –with Rackspace Private Cloud powered by OpenStack. PLUMgrid ONS helps organizations to bring into action their OpenStack cloud’s virtual network and SDN deployments. It enables overlay networking solutions supporting full spectrum of L2 to L4 functions and it is enabled with features including: high availability, NAT, security groups, policies, DHCP, DNS, encryption and operational tools.

Rackspace Private Cloud on the other hand offers scalable, production-ready private cloud powered by OpenStack that can be deployed in customer or Rackspace data center. Customers can build private Virtual Domains on their private cloud using PLUMgrid ONS to provide isolation, security and policy enforcement across tenants.

“Our customers expect a stable and scalable, production-ready private cloud powered by OpenStack,” said Darrin Hanson, vice president and general manager of Rackspace Private Cloud business. “Our relationship with PLUMgrid will give those who rely on Rackspace Private Cloud powered by OpenStack a new and powerful option for SDN deployment.“
