Proxim Adds ORiNOCO QB 9100 Series for WLAN Portfolio
SILICON VALLEY, CA: Proxim Wireless Corporation expands its WLAN product portfolio with the launch of ORiNOCO QB 9100 series, a wireless solution that combines 2.4 GHz access point and 5GHz Backhaul for outdoor deployments.
ORiNOCO converges 2.4 GHz access point and a Tsunami Quickbridge 5 GHz point-to-point backhaul radio allowing the users to connect to internet through ORiNOCO access point with very high throughput (866 Mbps data rate) backhaul in a single unit. It leverages the benefits of Advanced Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) radio innovations and Proxim’s Wireless Outdoor Routing Protocol (WORP) to provide wireless performance in excess of 4G or WiFi based backhaul products.
QB-9100 products can be centrally controlled with ProximVision Advanced, Proxim’s hybrid controller-network management solution. Resulting in rapid deployments by automating configuration processes, software-based device configuration options with latest upgrades. Additionally it meets other enterprise connectivity needs such as, reduction of data load on the cellular network by enabling Wi-Fi offload and also backhaul that WiFi traffic together with the collocated small cell traffic; Video protection or ITS network capabilities offering operators with secure access to information from unit while in field, on standard WiFi devices.
“By combining the functionality of two products into a single integrated solution, we believe we have significantly reduced these burdens on our customers. Proxim's long experience in both wireless LAN and point-to-point technologies has enabled us to introduce our QB-9100 products. This is the first of several 'Carrier WiFi' products we will be introducing to our portfolio over the coming quarters,” says Greg Marzullo, President and CEO of Proxim Wireless.
