LAS VEGAS, NV: Qualcomm in its latest move has released Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON (Self Organizing Network) by integrating with its subsidiary, Qualcomm Atheros. Qualcomm also unveils their new involvement with Audi, a Chinese Smartphone maker.  The Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON stands out with its implementation of networking products that power smart gateway, wireless routers, range extenders and access points by integrating it with several OEMS, adding Airtight, Asus, D-Link, Linksys and TP-Link.

Qualcomm Incorporated is a global provider of 3G, 4G Wireless technologies. Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi SON focuses on making Wi-Fi easier to access in home and office while also developing end-to-end performance and delivering an advanced user experience.

The key features   of Wi-Fi SON includes self-configuration that enables plug-and-play deployment; by allowing new base stations to automatically configure and integrate into the network. The technology helps in detecting and registering the base stations whenever they enter into the network and gets powered on. Its self-managing features offer autonomous performance optimization. It demonstrates self-healing characteristics that actively detects and resolves connectivity bottlenecks. Its Self-defending feature secures the network from unauthorized access.

Qualcomm supports Audi to enhance their car feature via Qualcomm’s automotive chip functions. It allows Audi to combine radio connectivity with intelligence by facilitating infotainment with an advanced driver assistance system platform.  The ADAS platform allows users to attend calls while facilitating the use cameras to automate and increase the safety features in the car. It offers adaptive cruise control technology for in-road vehicles to automatically manage the vehicle speed in maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. This platform provides the blind spot warning facility to Audi, which is a vehicle-based sensor device that detects other vehicles located to the driver’s side and rear. Qualcomm unlocks its new chip for the auto industry i.e. The Snapdragon 820 Automotive chip helps in delivering vehicular modification services that includes the enhanced vehicle to vehicle communication networking capabilities.
