Rapid7 Adds Longentries for Incident Detection and Response
FREMONT, CA: Rapid7, a provider of security data and analytics solutions announces the acquisition of Longentries, an organization that provides machine data search technology.
Machine Data is the data generated by servers, applications, sensors, web feeds, networks and service platforms. It contains a wealth of information on consumer behavior, security and compliance breaches. Log files are the most common source of machine data presently across all industries.
The company says that the addition of cloud based log management and search will enable information security teams to solve a range of security challenges, deeply investigate incidents and achieve compliance requirements.
Rapid 7 offers data collection and packaged analytics; enables security teams to accurately assess and act to reduce risk; identify and respond to threat. Longentries’ built-in tagging, alerting, and reporting will allow customers to maintain a proactive view of their environment and identify anomalous events.
