Real-time OLTP with Oracle Exadata X6
REDWOOD SHORES, CA: Oracle has recently released the Oracle Exadata X6 Database Machine with high-performing IT infrastructure and the best price for online transaction processing (OLTP), analytics, and consolidated database workloads. All the three game-changing elements will be available without any additional cost.

The platform combines 3D V-NAND flash with database intelligence in storage to achieve near Dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) level throughput from shared flash and 300 gigabytes per second of data throughput per rack. Oracle Exadata X6’ High Capacity variant uses state-of-the-art helium-filled eight terabyte (TB) disks to deliver more than 1.3 petabytes of disk capacity per rack. The Extreme Flash (all-flash) variant delivers more than 358 terabytes of state-of-the-art Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) flash per rack.
It features the ultra-fast InfiniBand networking, latest Intel Xeon processors, scale-out Oracle Exadata Storage Servers with all-flash or disk plus flash storage, and Exadata's exclusive storage server software. The storage capacity is an added expenditure for enterprises dealing with large data warehouse and consolidated database workloads. Oracle Exadata's Hybrid Columnar Compression technology increases storage capacity by an average factor of 10X. The real-time data in an OLTP database is necessary but conventionally, it is limited by random I/O bottlenecks. Oracle Exadata X6 breaks all barriers to real-time OLTP at any scale and achieves over 5.6 million I/O operations per second per rack.
