Red Hat Launches Beta Version of Red Hat Satellite 6

FREMONT, CA: Red Hat, a provider of open-source software products to the enterprise community, has launched the beta version of Red Hat Satellite 6 that enables customers to manage their data in hybrid cloud environments.

For organizations that use cloud based solutions, Red Hat Satellite 6 would help the customers by offering improved system provisioning, configuration management, patch management, and content management thereby providing high scalability and security. The beta version of Red Hat Satellite 6 has been endowed to manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and its previous distributions.

Based on open source solutions like Puppet and Foreman, Red Hat Satellite 6 beta help companies in solving their complex management of systems and also the hindrances between Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments, automation and standard operating environments thereby enabling the user to discover, provision and upgrade your entire bare-metal infrastructure.

The user can also create and manage instances across private and public clouds; Integrate Puppet into your Satellite environment for fully-supported configuration management; Use improved methods for managing your content – both Red Hat Package Managers (RPMs) and Puppet modules; Federate the management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux which includes provisioning, configuration, and content distribution and delivery.
