Revamping Infrastructure through Brocade's Ethernet Fabric IP Solution
FREMONT, CA: Brocade announces the deployment of its Ethernet fabric-based New IP Network switching solution by Excite Japan, to ensure company’s service infrastructure. Brocade VDX 6740 switch deploys next generation service infrastructure allowing internet portal operator to re-engineer its data centers through OpenStack software. The cloud computing platform collaborates to enhance business agility and scalability for future requirements.
Upholding its VCS Fabric technology, Brocade VDX 6740 removes the additional need of network switching layers in the data center through multiple switches to offer self- configuring, self- healing Ethernet fabric. The Switches slashes operational expenses by offering superior automation and simplicity to minimize the learning curve. The fabric managed as a single device can increase by adding more switches to the VCS fabrics based on its requirements. Brocade Network advisor integrated with Brocade Fabric Vision technology provides robust monitoring and alerting, unfolding real-time analytics on fabric health and performance.
The Brocade Neutron plug-in allows Excite Japan to configure virtual networks on the Brocade VDX switches in tandem to provision virtual machines by providing the programmatic interface between the VCS fiber and the OpenStack. The switches comprising 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports are ideal for cloud data center operations to run across the fabric at wire speed and very low port-to-port latency. The software streamlines multiple virtual machines to reside on each host server.
The company supports OpenStack users by delivering network visibility, extensibility, and adaptability. It also orchestrates the on-demand data center through partnering with OpenStack distributors such as Red Hat and Mirantis. The platform promotes multivendor and system-to- system interoperability in cloud networking environments to contribute architectural transformation to the OpenStack framework.
"The integration of Brocade VCS Fabric technology with OpenStack yields unprecedented level of operational efficiency and administrative simplicity, yielding a highly flexible infrastructure that enables Excite Japan to accelerate new service development and deployment," said Masakazu Aoba, VP , Brocade, Japan.
