Riverbed Expedites the Consolidation of 350 Business Apps for Sub-Zero
SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Riverbed Technology, application performance infrastructure provider strikes a deal with Sub-Zero Group by offering its solutions in order to aggregate 350 cloud-based business apps including Office 365 on a single platform for the latter company. Riverbed guarantees the benefits of centralized management through remote troubleshooting and delivering an ultimate application performance over the hybrid WAN. Sub-Zero Group, manufacturers of luxury appliances leverages two of the flagship products from Riverbed—SteelHead and SteelCentral to deliver fast application performance and application-aware network visibility.
With the annual revenue of 1 Bn dollars, Riverbed delivers the most accomplished platform for location-independent computing to over 25,000 clients worldwide. Riverbed’s SteelHead optimizes application performance and end-user experience at manufacturing plants and showrooms of Sub-Zero is comparable to that at the former company’s central office. Cloud applications such as Office 365 will be perked up by SteelHead SaaS, which acts as the single source of operational control for Sub-Zero’s IT team to ameliorate the performance of applications. Riverbed’s Universal SaaS license allows Sub-Zero to adopt more SaaS at no additional costs.
Sub-Zero Group includes its line of freezers and refrigerators and the Wolf line of the cooking products. The firm’s showrooms, manufacturing units, Disaster Recovery (DR) facility in Arizona, the company’s Wisconsin headquarters and its primary data center, and six affiliated distributors in major cities across the United States are all linked with an MPLS network. The primary goal of Sub-Zero was to centralize the data of the company headquarters and to standardize applications along all units of Sub-Zero for expeditious user experience.
The hassle-free management and set up persuaded Sub-Zero to replace its previous Network Performance Management (NPM) product with Riverbed SteelCentral appliances based on the evaluation outcomes of WAN optimization products from Riverbed Technology and Cisco Systems. The SteelCentral appliances include NetShark for packet capture and NetProfiler for network reporting and analytics.
Previously, it took more than 10 seconds to save a file into OneDrive due to latency, bandwidth, and network distance. SteelHead SaaS now saves nearly 90 percent of the time and makes the process of checking email and opening outlook calendars faster than before. It also accelerates the delivery of HD videos from the data center to distributors and improves experience of customers in retail showrooms.
