Riverbed SteelHead: First WAN Optimization Solution to GET DISA Certification
SAN FRANCISCO: Riverbed Technology, one of the application performance companies, has announced that Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has certified Riverbed, making it the first wide-area network (WAN) optimization provider to achieve STIG accreditation.
“This vital DISA certification corroborates our approach to protect informational assets in today’s cyber security environment,” said Davis Johnson, Vice President, Public Sector, Riverbed Technology. “DoD and civilian personnel rely on networks to instantly and securely access the tools they require to meet mission goals, and we are committed to delivering the most safe and reliable application performance solutions to our customers.”
STIGs are made to aid in implementing the safe and secure deployment of products and consist of technical guidance on how to secure information systems and software that might be susceptible to attack. With STIG approval, Riverbed will work together with federal agencies and US Department of Defense to install SteelHead in order to improve application performance while adhering to security compliances.
“Federal agencies depend on DISA for making network devices secure, and this certification will enable federal IT leaders to execute DISA’s vision of safety and securely optimizing network infrastructure and application gateways,” emphasized Joe Tomasello, Product Management Director, Security, Riverbed Technology.
Riverbed works in tandem with federal agencies to deliver end-to-end visibility, control for superior application performance and optimization. Riverbed customers include all cabinet level agencies and the three branches of the military.
Riverbed SteelHead is the industry’s leading optimization solution for fast delivery of all applications across the hybrid enterprise. SteelHead is a part of the Riverbed Application Performance Platform, which also includes: Riverbed SteelFusion for centralizing remote office IT, Riverbed SteelCentral for network visibility, SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide-Area Network) solutions that provide new levels of business agility, plus open APIs and developer tools, called SteelScript to facilitate platform programmability, intelligence, and interoperability
