Rust-Oleum, a manufacturer of specialty paints and coatings has opted for Transplace’s transportation management services and logistics technology to enhance operational efficiencies, which will reduce transportation cost.

Rust-Oleum initiated the relationship with Transplace by leveraging its intermodal services through Celtic International. “After establishing a successful relationship with Transplace through Celtic International, Rust-Oleum identified the opportunity to expand the partnership by having them manage our Canadian and cross-border shipments,” says Tim Nelson, logistics analyst, Rust-Oleum. “By optimizing our network and consolidating Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments into full truckloads, Rust-Oleum is able to more efficiently serve our retail customers and achieve considerable savings.”

Having a good hold of the Canadian market, Transplace delivers Rust-Oleum the required transportation services and solutions to optimize the company’s Canadian and cross-border shipments, while extending real-time visibility and tracking.

“As a supplier to many retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada, there is tremendous opportunity for Rust-Oleum to achieve cost savings by consolidating its shipments, while still maintaining high levels of service to its customers,” says John Kelly, President of Transplace’s international business unit. “We will continue to work with Rust-Oleum to further take advantage of operational efficiencies in order to drive down transportation costs and allow them to better serve their customers.”
