
S1000D Specialized CORENA Software Acquired by Flatirons Solutions
IRVINE, CA: Europe based software firm CORENA has been acquired by Flatirons Solutions, a provider of content lifecycle management. CORENA specializes in S1000D-based solutions for the aerospace, defense, marine, rail, and energy industries.
S1000D was developed by AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and defines it as an international XML specification for the procurement and production of technical publications and for preparing, managing, and using equipment maintenance and operations information.
This is the third acquisition done by Flatirons in the past two years which is considerably expanding their reach and specialized services with CLM solutions. It will bring about more efficiency in operation of highly regulated, capital-intensive assets where the critical factor is material or labor productivity.
