The new lightning experience comprises the new Lightning Design System, Lightning App Builder and Lightning Components to enable users to work faster and easily create modern enterprise applications.

The Lightning Experience offers a consumer-grade experience and is capable of working across devices such as desktop, tablet and mobile. Based on Salesforce’s new design principles,the Lightning Design System enables developers to build components that work with Salesforce on every device and operating system.

The Lightning Experience focuses on improving core sales, and hosts a number of features such as Activity feed; Contextual Hovers; Opportunity Board; and Customizable dashboards. It also offers benefits that include faster sales and smarter selling. Users can easily customize Sales Cloud to fit the needs of their organization.
