SanDisk Announces Availability of Latest Fusion ioMemory PCIe App Accelerators
FREMONT, CA: SanDisk, a flash storage solutions provider, introduces the latest Fusion ioMemory PCIe application accelerator to optimize performance of data centers. The latest solution reduces I/O latency in accessing databases hosted in enterprise-grade cloud environments to speed up the data access.
Fusion ioMemory PCIe, a product from the company Fusion-io, deals with the defying problems of data center computing which are reducing the length of time and data extraction infrastructure required for storage based on conventional hard drives. These PCIe cards can increase performance by streamlining data access for databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL database along with new database technologies like Spark, Redis and MongoDB. Besides PCIe cards, Fusion ioMemory provides a wide range of accelerators including mezzanine storage for blade servers.
The latest launch of Fusion ioMemory PCIe is incorporated with SanDisk NAND flash and Virtual Storage Layer(VSL) data access acceleration software which delivers up to a 4x cost benefit improvement besides providing a contraction of 61 percent of list price over antecedents. Each card is enhanced for mixed use or read intensive workload and can be paired with latest next generation FlashSoft caching software.
Recently updated Fusion ioMemory application accelerators portfolio include: SX350 and SX300 Series; PX600 Series; Mezzanine Series; and FlashSoft Bundles.
SX350 and SX 300 Series: available in the range of 1.25TB up to 6.4TB; supports diverse workloads including virtualization, databases, BI, web hosting, data mining, CAD/CAM, and more. Mezzanine Series achieves high performance and density gains over hard disk for virtualized environments, stimulates data mining and business intelligence. HP Gen9, Gen8 BladeSystem Servers and CISCO UCS B-series Blade servers have mezzanine servers on board.
The product suite also includes PX600 Series that is devised for mixed-use workloads with the capacity varying from 1TB to 5.2TB. FlashSoft Bundles is another offering that delivers the benefits of Fusion ioMemory flash hardware and caching software in one solution that is easy to guage.
“Fusion-io’s technology fundamentally transformed expectations about data center performance when it debuted eight years ago and it remains the standard by which all other PCIe products are judged,” said John Scaramuzzo, SVP and general manager, Enterprise Storage Solutions, SanDisk.
“Combining the power of Fusion ioMemory technology with SanDisk’s vertically integrated NAND flash, our engineering talent and portfolio of SATA and SAS SSDs, provides customers with an unparalleled combination of flexibility, performance, scalability, quality and value to help solve their data center challenges," adds Scaramuzzo.
