FREMONT, CA: SmartChip, a provider of semiconductor solutions, announces new generation of semiconductor-based controllers dedicated for Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), Universal SIM and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications.  The latest third generation of controller devices, SCFXXXI, is expected to yield power, cost, and performance trade-offs to the Telecom industry.

To begin with, the company will be providing SCF40001 – as the first member of the SCFXXXI – controller to cater to the demands of resource-intensive 3G Java applications. Based on CORTUS APS3cd 32-bit Harvard RISC architecture, SCF4001 gets the support of a comprehensive set of development tools. The device has been designed to perform as a high speed, high capacity memory.

It achieves a processing speed of 25 MIPS for Java code execution. Powered by E3 (ECUBE), this controller provides robust data retention. “The SCF400I, The first product of our Third Generation of SIM Controllers family demonstrates very well StarChip’s constant commitment to provide the industry with a comprehensive, rich portfolio of high-performance, highly efficient, cost-optimized devices.
