Solidfire Proclaims itself Open for Solidfire PowerShell Tools

BOULDER, CO: Flash storage and software development company, Solidfire introduces tools for PowerShell customers enabling them to leverage SolidFire’s fully-featured API when controlling various aspects of the system. Microsoft Windows Powershell has seen some swift acceptance as a global standard for scriptable management for Microsoft Windows and VMware environments, PowerCLI is also being widely adopted by customers of VMware due to its compatibility with VMware. With the application of PowerShell, organizations can attain the ability to accumulate critical information from their professional vicinity in order to boost efficiency of lifecycle management and also promise better consistency.

With this release, SolidFire Powertools come with over 80 Command-lets (cmdlets) which provides a simplified intuitive platform enabling seamless management, reporting, and automation for SolidFire system. The capabilities that come with these cmdlets include Solidfire Cluster configuration management, creation and management of Accounts, Volume, Volume Access Groups, Managements of features like Snapshots and clones and Collection and reporting of system and usage data.

The Solidfire PowerShell Tool  have been made available for downloading on SolidFire’s PowerShell Github repository as well as on their FTP site. Some additional PowerShell resources for managing SolidFire are also hosted on the GitHub repo. However the cynosure agenda for the additional resources are towards targeting VMware-specific environments with prospective future plans to release additional functions and scripts in periphery of Windows, Hyper-V and Citrix technologies in the near future.
