Somfy Launches Rain and Sun Sensor to Make Smart Homes Smarter
DAYTON, NJ: Somfy Systems, manufacturer of tubular motors for interior and exterior window coverings introduces the Ondeis WireFree RTS Rain and Sun Sensor, a wireless sensor that adapts to weather conditions therefore protecting belongings.
The solar-powered sensor can retract or extend awnings, exterior screens, and rolling shutters based on rain and sun levels. It is customizable and has the ability to select personalized thresholds for rain along with various operation modes for awnings, shutters, and screens.
Ondeis has six modes of operation and is compatible with all new and existing Radio Technology Somfy (RTS) motorized awnings, exterior screens, and rolling shutters. It provides options to choose between rain or sun protection or turn on both at once.
The company claims that the product is easy to install, requires no wiring, and can be mount flat, on a pole or even on the gutter through gutter mount. It has LED indicator lights to provide more visibility on the option that is chosen.
Awnings can be protected from rain damage with a sensor that responds to changes in the weather, whether users are at home or away. On sunny days users can enjoy the shade and make the backyard more comfortable with the sun sensor. It also provides complete weather protection, when combined with Eolis 3D WireFree Wind Sensor.
“The Ondeis WireFree makes it that much easier to protect your awning investment. It’s just another way Somfy is building happiness and making life more convenient,” says Tom Murphy, COO, Somfy.
